Photos of Cincinnati bridges[edit]

Hi. I'd like to thank you for contributing your photos to the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge Wikipedia article. I'm planning to write articles about Cincinnati's other Ohio River bridges sometime soon, so if you have any photos of them, or get the chance to take any, they would be of great assistance. Nanjing Road photo[edit]

Hi. Thanks for the link to the edited photo, it looks much better. I think I'll upload it in place of the old one. Sadly I have no idea about photo editing, so I couldn't do anything like that. aerial photography[edit]

Thanks! I only fly over US cities, and mostly Indiana right now. But I would encourage anyone to take aerial photos of any cities listed in Wikipedia. My view is that having any photos of towns and cities improves the articles, with ground photos of landmarks being best (see my home town of Bremen, Indiana) but I can take pictures of dozens of cities from the air that I'll never actually visit. That's a really small town! Here's an aerial shot of my city [1], and yes, it does give an edge to the location, especially if the roads and buildings can be seen clearly. Nichalp 18:32, July 11, 2005 (UTC)

How do I cite the owner of a photo on my webpage?[edit]

Hi Tysto, I'm working on a webpage for a non-profit group in Cincinnati. I would like to use some of your photos of Cincinnati. According to Creative Commons Attribution 2.0: Attribution. You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor. On your photo of the Roebling bridge for example you don't give any instructions. Hi, Morphaeous-- I've had several requests to use my photos for projects from my site (Tysto.com) and this site. I always allow them to be used freely and for any purpose by anyone. For that reason, I've been putting public domain tags on all my Wiki Commons photos for months but I think the Roebling Suspension Bridge was one of the first, so I'll change it. I appreciate the offer of a photo credit, tho; something like "photo by Derek Jensen" is appropriate but by no means necessary. --Tysto 20:51, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jersey City Photos[edit]

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

The release dated is slated for 2014. I understand that you have placed this image in the public domain. What should we include in the credit line for the image? Congratulations![edit]

This has got to be the worst photograph that I have ever seen of this building! While there is some artistic merit in the use of perspective to redefine reality and cause us to think about what it is that we are actually seeing, this representation of the building totally distorts its immensity.
