The Public Museum Madness Scavenger Hunt
A team-building adventure fit for Indiana Jones…
…lies in store for you when you trek through the Milwaukee Public Museum, which almost seems like it was purposely built as a scavenger-hunt location. If you’ve never been there, you’ll be surprised and delighted at the wide variety of exhibits. Your team will follow a trail of clues around the globe—or at least through the many re-creations of homes and villages in galleries devoted to Europe, Africa, Asia, the Arctic, rain forests, remote islands, volcanic landscapes, and even the streets of Old Milwaukee—and answer tricky, humorous questions about what you find.
On your quest, you might discover…
- A giant dinosaur who’s a bit nutty
- The bathing beauty that Columbus mistook for a mermaid
- Someone who might have told his doctor he’d rather have a hole in his head than agreeing to a certain procedure
- A shark’s choice of takeout
- An animal that looks like an unfortunate “before” and “after” ad
Plus, cannibalistic bonfires, shrunken heads, hissing cockroaches, ancient games, and much more. But you don’t need any prior knowledge to win: this is a test of teamwork, not trivia.
Special editions for sleuths and kids groups
For an extra challenge, try the Murder Mystery Edition, in which secrets about objects on display reveal a tale of international espionage. Crack a code to find out who did it—and head off an international disaster.
Kids Editions are also available. Younger audiences, ages 7 and up, get in the game with adults to discover the weirdest, wildest, and most entertaining objects in the museum. On school field trips the scavenger hunt is a great way for kids and adult chaperones and teachers to work together and see a lot of the museum in a game of fast-paced fun. The scavenger hunt for kids is also a perfect activity for birthday parties, scout outings—you name it!
