The City Museum Mania Scavenger Hunt
Meet us at the strangest place in St. Louis
What kind of a museum features a giant Slinky, an indoor treehouse and cave system, a 10-story slide, a refurbished organ, and a collection of skateboard ramps? A wonderfully unusual one that pairs extremely well with our wonderfully unusual game. On teams, you’ll follow a trail of clues through the wacky exhibits in this former shoe factory as you collaborate to answer fun, funny questions about the orphaned objects culled from some very random places.
Find your answers among giant propellers, ceramic doll heads, scientific specimens, silent bearded men, and more. You’ll also be challenged to take creativity-stretching Team Photos, which might have you posing as mad scientists making a discovery or explorers who are lost in space.
Your team might tackle such questions as…
- Find a bottle that sounds like it belongs to a group of jewelers or card players. What is it expressly for? (You might think, “Yeah, right…”) Answer: The Diamond Club whiskey bottle is “expressly for medicinal use.”
- Find a grid of portraits on the wall. What idiots are directly above a dead president’s wise guy? Answer: The Three Stooges are above Henry Kissinger.
- Visit the Vault Room. The giant door was made by a company with three names. What’s the fishy one? Answer: On the door, you can make out the faint name Herring Hall Mervin Co.
The questions are designed to be answered only when you’re in the right spot, looking at the right object. Don’t worry—our clues will get you there. No prior knowledge of the museum is necessary: you just need to pay attention to the details, use your wits, and work with your group.
If you’ve been looking for an out-of-the-box activity that combines team building and flat-out fun, you’ve found it. This scavenger hunt is perfect for birthday parties, social-group outings, corporate events—you name it.
